Man dies 36 years after being shot, police now calling it homicide
2/21/2013Sacramento police are investigating the shooting death of Walter Johnson, but this is no ordinary homicide: Johnson died 36 years after he was shot. Johnson, 62, was paralyzed in a 1977 shooting and his eventual death was caused by complications from his injuries. On the night it happened, Johnson was driving toward his parents' house when three men blocked his car, briefly fought with him and then shot him before fleeing the scene. The men were never caught, but investigators are hoping for new leads in what seems like a very cold case. "People talk over the years," a police spokesperson said. "If you hear anything, go ahead and give us a call." [Source]
