Jail must be awesome: Cops say guy robbed bank to get back behind bars
2/13/2013Get ready for a highly depressing, real-life "Shawshank Redemption" scenario. Authorities in Chicago say Walter Unbehaun, a 73-year-old ex-con, had recently finished serving a 10-year term for bank robbery. Now he stands accused of robbing another bank for a grand total of $4,178. Police say Unbehaun "threw down his cane" and surrendered when they tracked him to a motel. Unbehaun, who faces up to 20 years for the crime, told authorities that he had become "accustomed to life in prison" and wants to live the rest of his life in jail. [Source]
