Expert: 'Worthless' islands put US on the brink of war with China
12/27/2012According to a former defense official, China and Japan are gearing up for war next year — and the U.S. will join in the fun. Hugh White, a professor at Australian National University, believes dispute over a couple of rocks in the East China Sea called the Senkaku or Diaoyu Islands (depending on who your nukes are aimed at) could lead to a full-scale conflict. According to Prof. White, tension over the uninhabited islands could set off the powder keg of China's growing power in the Pacific. "This is how wars usually start: with a steadily escalating standoff over something intrinsically worthless," he wrote. Oh, humanity. You're too cute. [Source] and [Source]
