11/26/2012The election may be over, but political squabbles are here to stay: Warren Buffett, liberal America's patron saint of the super rich, has declared his support of a flat tax on the wealthy in an op-ed piece for The New York Times. Buffett argues that "the ultrarich, including me, will forever pursue investment opportunities" — even if taxes go up. Buffett writes that the "ultrarich" make an average of $97,000 per hour and "half of this crew paid less than 20 percent" in combined federal income and payroll taxes. His solution? A flat tax of 30 percent on people making between $1 million and $10 million — and 35 percent above that. [Source]
