Watch a fireworks factory blow itself to smithereens

6/16/2012

Here's why you don't play with fire at your job at the fireworks factory, kids. This fireworks plant in the Russian city of Chita caught fire for undisclosed reasons and the resulting mayhem is arguably more dramatic than any formal display. A supremely brave bystander videoed the mesmerizing, growing fire and random, cascading fireworks, barely flinching at 0:39 when the fire ignites something highly volatile and a blockbuster-movie caliber fireball ensues. The "factory," a large shed with a corrugated tin roof judging by the debris, is reduced to splinters and ribbons of metal. Miraculously, the local press reported that nobody was hurt.
