Watch what one drop of snake venom will do to your blood
7/11/2012We all know to avoid poisonous snakes, but what does their venom actually do to our bodies? This video — which shows what happens when venom from a deadly species known as the Russell's viper comes in contact with our blood — is absolutely bone-chilling. The vid shows a handler extracting the deadly liquid and adding a drop of it to a glass of blood. After just a few seconds, the venom transforms the blood into a thick, disgusting jelly. The effects of venom vary by species, but you'd better believe we'll be opting for long pants on our summer hikes from now on.
