It's official: July 2012 was hottest month on record
8/8/2012It's not just you: The weather is officially out of control. The National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has announced that July was the hottest month in the lower 48 states since record-keeping began in 1895. Virginia won a special shout-out for its hottest-ever month, while several other states also recorded temperatures that placed July 2012 among their top ten. Paradoxically, only Alaska had a record cool month -- July was its18th chilliest. We're sure all those people suffering the results of the Midwest heat wave will find cold comfort in the stats.
