Lump of sperm whale vomit found by dog might fetch $180K

A boxer dog called Madge could have a bedazzled collar coming her way after leading her master to a lump of sperm whale vomit valued up to $180,000. Known as ambergris, or "floating gold," the pungent puke is used to carry the scent in perfume. Ken Wilman happened upon the malodorous 6.6-pound windfall while walking his dog on the beach at Morecambe, Lancashire. Unable to fathom why Madge was so interested in it, he went home and looked it up online. "When I saw how much it could be worth, I went back to the beach and grabbed it," the lucky Brit said.
