What the puck?! Russian prez scores winning hockey goal

5/9/2012

Hours after his inauguration Monday, three-time Russian president Vladimir Putin weirdly showed up in a hockey game between some of his country's best amateurs and legends. Putin only recently started to play ice hockey, but the defense for the legends suddenly "seemed to magically vanish into thin air" and he was able to skate right in and score the tying goal, Agence France-Presse reports. Incredible day for Putin, right? Then he topped himself, scoring the game-winning point in an overtime shootout on a goal that a 6-year-old netminder encased in pads likely would have been able to handle. It's good to be king, eh, Vlad?
