Anyone miserably slapping their sandwich meats between whole grain bread and feeling nostalgia for the days of Wonder will be pleased to hear that some nutrition experts feel that white bread has been unfairly "demonized." The British Nutrition Foundation maintains in new research that standard sliced white bread doesn’t cause bloating, wheat allergies or weight gain and is in fact a vital source of vitamins and minerals. “Health professionals need to dispel the myths," the lead scientist on the project says.
