Petition calls for a gun-free zone to replace president's armed guards
1/29/2013We're beginning to wonder if the White House regrets launching its We the People digital platform which allows anybody to appeal to the administration for action on an issue of their choice. A petition on the site making headlines today calls for the elimination of armed-guard protection for the president, vice-president and their families to be replaced by a gun-free zone around them. The petition argues that since policies of gun-free zones are used around schools to protect children, a gun-free zone "should be good enough for politicians." The number of signatures has exceeded 25,000, but the White House now requires more than 100,000 for an official response. [Source]

Do you think a gun-free zone around the president would work?
