White House reporter scolded for hinting Romney's a racist
6/23/2012It's not just presidential candidates who can get into trouble for what they say in an election year. While talking with Martin Bashir on MSNBC Thursday, Joe Williams, the White House correspondent for Politico, answered a question about Mitt Romney's connection with Hispanic voters by stating that the GOP candidate only appeared "comfortable [around] white folks" (zoom ahead to 9:31 in the video shown here). Williams had previously made penis jokes about Romney on his now locked Twitter account. Politico has suspended Williams and sent a memo to staff reminding them of their responsibilities to remain partisan-free.
