Black family says Disney's White Rabbit is racist2/7/2013
"White Rabbit accused of racism by Black family" is not a sensationalized headline. Jason and Elijah Black say that the "Alice in Wonderland" character shunned them during a recent trip to Disneyland. "I was going to hug him, but he turned his back," 6-year-old Jason said. The family, which is black, thought that the park simply had a policy that kept the costumed characters from hugging children — until they saw the rabbit getting cozy with white kids. "Two other kids came up and the rabbit … hugged them, kissed them, posed with them," dad Jason Black Sr. said. "That made my kids feel horrible." The family has sued Disneyland, asking for an apology and for the rabbit to be fired. [Source]
