Whole Foods makes wholly bad decision, uses Obama pic in chicken ad
2/21/2013Shoppers are upset at Whole Foods, and it's not just because of their prices. One Manhattan location has raised eyebrows and outrage by using a caricature of Barack Obama to advertise (sigh) a chicken sale. "There are certain things that have been used to put down black people: watermelon [and] fried chicken," resident Woody Henderson said after pointing out the politically incorrect poultry. A store spokesman said that the Obama drawing was just part of the "pop culture imagery" that they use to promote sales, but staff pulled the sign after receiving complaints. The chain says "no disrespect" was meant — and that those organic chickens will still go on sale on Friday. [Source]
