Social scientists used a fake Facebook persona called “Jordan” to observe how 88 straight women would interact with a gay man online. They concluded that women and gay men trust each other for “mating advice.” In an epiphanous stroke of stating the obvious, researchers concluded that they’re not competing, yet they share a mutual attraction to men.
