'Star Trek' star tests limits of fandom in new auction
11/29/2012Wil Wheaton is betting that somebody out there loves "Star Trek: The Next Generation" so much that he or she is willing to bid on a Wesley Crusher trading card that he accidentally ruined — by drawing a line across his own head, a painterly flourish that he managed to change, somewhat, into a pair of sunglasses. It's all for a good cause, with proceeds from the auction benefiting the Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA — so even if this is just one step up from those auctions for "cardboard Wiis," we salute Wheaton's entrepreneurial spirit. The bidding has topped $780. [Source]
