Euphoria is a side effect of Dr. Feelgood musician's terminal cancer

2/4/2013

Wilko Johnson, guitarist from '70s cult band Dr. Feelgood and actor from "Game of Thrones," might be dying of pancreatic cancer, but he’s still, well, feeling pretty good. In January, doctors told the 65-year-old that he has less than a year to live, but the news didn’t send him crying under the covers. Instead, he says, his cancer makes him feel alive almost to the point of euphoria and able to look at the world with fresh eyes. As he puts it, "I'm a miserable so-and-so. I suffer from depression and everything ... but all that stuff, whatever it was I used to worry about — it doesn't matter." Johnson isn't planning on canceling any of his upcoming farewell tour dates, either, so lucky fans should still be able to catch him live. Rock on, Wilko. [Source]
