Answering a Craigslist ad to donate sperm proves costly for Kansas man

Just another cautionary tale, fellas, about donating your sperm to people you meet on Craigslist. When William Marotta sold his sperm to lesbian couple  Angela Bauer and Jennifer Schreiner in Topeka, Kan., he also signed away all his parental rights … including any obligations to pay child support. But the state of Kansas is now coming after him for such payments after the mother of the child received state assistance for the baby. Court records show the state paid $189 for the baby girl between July and September of 2012, and has also paid almost $6,000 in medical assistance. Despite the agreement, the state says Marotta is still responsible because a licensed physician did not perform the insemination. [Source]
