Willie Nelson rescues two horribly neglected horses

Willie Nelson is famously passionate about farmers, weed and bio-fuels, but the softest spot in the country singer's heart belongs to horses. For years, Nelson has been a tireless advocate for equine causes, Recently, he was alerted by a nonprofit group about two horses in South Carolina that had been severely abused by their owner. The horses -- Traveler and Whisper -- had been neglected, and, in Whisper's case, abused (he was malnourished and suffered kerosene burns). When Nelson learned their story, he agreed to adopt the horses. Their former owner, meanwhile, faces multiple charges related to the abuse.
