Freakishly old bird unwisely gives birth for the 36th time

2/7/2013

They call her Wisdom, but we can't help but question the thinking of a 62-year-old who has just given birth for possibly the 36th time after hooking up with a much younger partner. Fortunately, however, she won't have to worry about cleaning up after him or socking away pennies for college, for Wisdom is an albatross, and happens to be the oldest known bird living in the wild. For a bird as old as Wisdom to produce a healthy chick is unheard of, say scientists, especially as the average Laysan albatross is lucky to live half as long as she has, let alone look this good.
