Woman calls officials to subdue a 'snake' in her attic

4/4/2012

Finding a snake lurking in the comfort of our home is the stuff of nightmares for most people, so spare a thought for one poor woman who had that horror come true ... sort of. A lady in Scotland called animal rescue after finding a 5-foot snake in her attic, but when they arrived they discovered it was actually a scaly-patterned draft blocker (those things you put alongside a door to stop cold breezes) and presumably posed no threat. Officer Karen Hogg said the "call-out really made us smile... it was refreshing to go to a job where the 'animal' was completely unharmed". The door stop -- which has been christened Sid -- has since been "rehomed" at the animal rescue center.
