Woman could be jailed for walking dogs too slowly
7/3/2012A feud between neighbors turned into a battle over semantics -- and dog-walking. Linda Jefferies is a farmer in the English county of Essex. For years, Jefferies and her neighbor, Pauline Robb, argued over the use of a path the women shared. Jefferies sued Robb last year, but a judge ruled in Robb's favor. The judge decreed Jefferies used the path to spy on Robb and her husband, issuing an injunction saying Jefferies had to "move along at a reasonable speed" on the path. Jefferies appealed, claiming the injunction prevented her from walking her dogs because they might "dawdle" and land her in jail. Her appeal was denied, all but guaranteeing the silly feud will continue.
