Woman finds a shank knife in a bag of Jolly Ranchers

7/29/2012

What kind of sordid violence is going down on the Jolly Rancher production line these days? California resident Amy Hu bought a fully sealed bag of Jolly Rancher Crunch N’ Chew candy, enjoyed a few pieces, and then pulled a rusty shank knife from the bag. Parent company Hershey has offered her three bags of replacement candy, but Amy’s concerns run deeper than missing out on treats. "I breast feed, so eating something that was touching this dirty knife, I don’t know what I just put in my body," Amy said. Our concern: Seriously, why are candy makers bringing shivs to work? We don’t remember Oompah Loompahs packing blades. [Source]
