Woman says she was fired for a doughnut run, other sins
5/11/2012Ashlie Simpson says that after she got coffee and doughnuts with a married coworker, her bosses at Colorado Christian University confronted her about her "disregard for the sanctity of marriage" and asked her if she was "living in sin" with her boyfriend. Simpson was fired by the University in January, and has filed a lawsuit for invasion of privacy. "I was shocked to learn that CCU was concerned about my personal life and even more distressed when they chose to fire me because of it," Simpson said. "I had no choice but to take legal action." She also claims that the school did not allow her to take appropriate leave to handle her medical problems. The school denies Simpson's allegations.
