Elderly woman scares off would-be robbers by firing her gun

Anyone considering robbing a jewelry store near Garden Grove, Calif., should give up immediately. When five men attempted to rob Continental Jewelry on July 29, the 65-year-old owner fired her handgun twice at them. She freaked out the suspects to badly they battled each other to get through the door to escape — and their get-away SUV sped off so quickly it left three of the five behind. Police said the other two suspects might be the same duo who tried to rob another jewelry store the following day, but in that heist, the store owner shot one suspect in the face, sending him to the hospital in critical condition.
