Woman sues matchmaking service for criminally bad date

6/21/2012

You know a date went wrong when it ends in a lawsuit. Sure, expectations are high when you pay $7,000 to a matchmaking service to hook you up. But Jeanne McCarthy, 65, got set up with a man who has thrice been convicted of drunk driving and had an outstanding criminal warrant. How is this bad boy still single, right? McCarthy, of Lawrenceville, N.J., is suing her local branch of the Two of Us matchmaking agency for only arranging one doozy of a date in five months. She didn't ask for much — just a "quality" man, 58 to 67 years old with an active lifestyle, but instead she got a 73-year-old with, uh, issues.
