Woman survives being thrown onto subway tracks in alleged mugging
1/19/2013This time, a terrifying story about someone getting pushed onto subway tracks has a happy ending. A 23-year-old woman was brutally attacked and thrown by her legs onto the track at a SEPTA subway station in Philadelphia's Chinatown on Tuesday afternoon. Luckily, she managed to scramble to safety and walk away with only bumps, bruises and a few cuts, escaping both being hit by the train and getting electrocuted. Her alleged attacker, who reportedly asked for a light for his cigarette before beating her and stealing her phone, was arrested on Thursday. He was reportedly wearing the same distinctive jacket seen in the surveillance video above (which, as a warning, is disturbing to watch). He was still carrying the woman's phone, police said.
