Woman walks around topless to remind NYC that it's legal
5/20/2012Is Moira Johnston a crusader for women's rights or just a girl in desperate need of attention? We don't know. But either way, we hope the 29-year-old used sunscreen this week as she walked topless in and around New York's Union Square. Johnston said she was raising awareness of a 1992 law that allows women to be topless wherever men can be, which is to say, virtually everywhere. She easily got the attention of the smartphone-wielding hordes in the area, who quickly posted uncensored pics to blogs. Of her nudity, she said that "people aren't used to seeing it in our culture yet," but that most of them were supportive. We're glad she had *some* support.
Do you think women should be allowed to go topless in public?
