Woman's ring found in sewer 18 months after she flushed it
4/13/2012Two sewer workers made Mechelle Rieger the happiest woman in Kuna, Idaho -- When they found the diamond wedding ring she accidentally flushed down the toilet nearly 18 months ago. "I was freaking out," Rieger recalled. "It was horrible, and I just started screaming -- I stuck my hands down the toilet, but the ring took off and it was long gone." The workers, doing routine maintenance, found the ring last week in a filtration basket and took it to City Hall, where a smiling Rieger came Thursday. "We all took pictures and I gave them hugs," she said. She and hubby celebrate a silver anniversary in June.
