Moves afoot to potentially draft women into military service

2/26/2013

Rumblings in Washington could see women drafted into the military during wartime. Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., wants the Selective Service System (the list of 17 million guys with four limbs aged 18-25 who could be called upon to go to war if a draft was ever necessary) to be expanded to include women. The Service Women's Action Network (SWAN) agrees, saying women should have just as much right to serve their country as men. "Lifting the ban on women officially serving in combat is about giving qualified women the opportunity to serve," said executive director Anu Bhagwati. "That would include having woman register for selective service." [Source]
