It’s also a downside: Many people’s Facebook timelines are filled with mundane updates, because most us aren’t that interesting. But if you’re concerned about how awesome people think you are, you could just lie. According to a new study, 1 in 4 women who use social media fib about how fab their lives are, exaggerating or distorting what they've been up to. One-third admitted to lying on social media at some point. The most common reasons were not wanting to appear boring, jealousy at someone else’s great life and wanting to impress others.
