World’s oldest man ‘delighted’ to celebrate another birthday
4/20/2012Hope they had a big cake for all those candles! Jiroemon Kimura, the world's current oldest man, celebrated his 115th birthday at home in Kyoto, Japan yesterday. For anyone a bit shaky on their math, that means the birthday boy was born in 1897! When quizzed on the secret to his amazing longevity he replied, "Maybe it's all thanks to the sun above me. I am always looking up towards the sky." Mr. Kimura is now the third oldest man ever recorded in history. And he had no shortage of people to celebrate his incredible life with: he has 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. That's a whole lotta presents!
What would you give Mr. Kimura for a birthday present?
