World Bank warns of climate change apocalypse by 2100
11/19/2012By 2100, the world is going to suck like a pedal-powered vacuum cleaner, according to a World Bank report aimed at shocking governments into action on climate change. "Turn Down The Heat" notes that the likely scenario of global average temperatures rising by 7.2 degrees by the turn of the next century will wreak havoc on the global economy and impact heavily on all its inhabitants — especially the poor. According to the report, coral reef ecosystems will disappear, sea levels will rise by up to three feet and the 22nd century will be characterized by wild weather, drought and famine on a scale to which humanity might not be able to adapt.
