Politicians are banned from 'World's Biggest Liar' competition

11/17/2012

Professionals are banned from all manner of competitions so as not to have an unfair advantage. The World's Biggest Liar competition is no exception, where politicians and journalists are strictly forbidden from competing due to their skill. The annual event is held at the Santon Bridge Inn in England's Lake District in memory of its 19th-century landlord famous for his dubious stories. The competition is essentially a themed standup comedy routine for entrants, though one-liners are not unheard of, like the (possibly fictional) time a bishop was instantly crowned the winner after claiming "Well, I have never told a lie in my life."
