First to eat world's hottest curry fine, apart from the hallucinations

1/5/2013

An English doctor is the first person to successfully eat the world's hottest curry. The chicken dish is made with 15-20 Naga Infinity peppers, which are said to be 200 times hotter than a jalapeno. The fiery stew is made at Bindi, a restaurant in England, by chefs wearing goggles and masks to protect them from the peppers. Bindi's executive chef said that Ian Rothwell finished the chicken curry in around an hour, "but that included a 10 minute walk down Granthan High Street when he started hallucinating." Rothwell is the first person to succeed in polishing off a bowl of 'The Widower'; 300 have tried and failed. [Source]
