Wrestling hangs up its spandex as Olympics drops it from games

Wrestling is tapping out of the Olympic Games. The International Olympic Committee has thrown the sport out on its cauliflower ear and dropped it from the 2020 program. It's a little sad, as grappling has been part of the games since the first modern Olympics in 1896. With this loss, there are now 25 sports in the Summer Olympics — eliminating one allows the committee to add a new one later this year. Potential additions include karate (cool), squash (boring) and wakeboarding (really?). [Source]
