Yoga teacher says Facebook fired her over no-phone policy
7/10/2012Alice Van Ness, a yoga instructor from San Carlos, Calif., has always insisted her students turn off their cellphones in class -- that includes her students at Facebook, where she started teaching in March. But Van Ness says her policy got her fired after she frowned on a Facebook staffer who picked up her phone mid-pose. "Something can't wait half an hour?" complained Van Ness, who claims the fitness contractor she worked for indicated that saying "no" to Facebook employees is to be avoided at all costs. Facebook declined to comment, although we're guessing this isn't a story they're going to like.
