NY nanny arrested and charged with Krim family murders
11/4/2012Though national outrage about the brutal murders of two New York City children has been recently overshadowed by coverage of Hurricane Sandy, the NYPD has been quietly following the heinous crime. Police have arrested the Krims' family nanny, Yoselyn Ortega (pictured standing behind her sister in the photo above), and charged her with the murder of Lucia, 6, and Leo Krim, almost 2. Paul Brown, NYPD police commissioner, revealed that because Ortega was "no longer intubated and recuperating" from her self-imposed knife wounds, she has been formally charged with two counts each of murder in the first and second degree. Ortega will remain hospitalized but under guard. [Source]
