Young runaways journey 600 miles to be with grandma

6/29/2012

Expect this story to be made into a movie sometime soon: Three French siblings aged 8, 10 and 14 ran away from home last weekend and traveled more than 600 miles across the country to see their grandmother. The kids journeyed via rail from La Roche-sur-Yvon, on France's west coast, to Cannes, in the southeastern corner, changing trains twice. The reason for the epic cross-country expedition? The youngsters were upset about their parents' divorce. Their grandma met them at the station at Cannes late on Saturday night, and they were joined by their mother the next day.
