'Christmas Story' bully gets settlement, and then another beating
12/23/2012Scut Farkus got his start bullying in "A Christmas Story" after nailing Ralphie with a slushball. But actor Zach Ward, who played the preteen tormentor in the 1983 holiday classic, thought he was the one being bullied when a board game that included his image was marketed without his go-ahead. So he wrangled a settlement from the National Entertainment Collectibles Association, but while the figure wasn't disclosed, the game-maker's feelings were. Calling Ward "a professional plaintiff," NECA attorney Kent Raygor poked fun at Ward's blurry picture on the box and scoffed that thinking the Scut character helped sell the game "was just wishful thinking." Now that's a slushball to the kisser. [Source]
