'Not racist' soccer fans warn their team not to recruit black players
12/18/2012Some fans of the Russian soccer team Zenit St Petersburg sound like the kind of jerks who'd use the "But some of my best friends are black!" line. In recent months players with Martinique and Brazilian ancestry have joined the team, and fans have now warned club management not to recruit any black players. "We're not racists but we see the absence of black players at Zenit as an important tradition," members of a team fan club wrote on their website, explaining they only want to watch players of a similar "cultural background." The charming fans added that they don't want "sexual minorities" (that is, gay players) on the team either. [Source]
