Student gives up studies to care for sibs after parents die in Sandy
11/9/2012A Rutgers student who appealed for help in the wake of superstorm Sandy has received more than $56,000 in one day thanks to online donors. Zoe Everett, 19, has given up her studies to care for her younger siblings after their parents were killed when a tree hit their truck as they were driving through Mendham Township, N.J., during the storm. Now Zoe is committed to looking after 14-year-old Theo, 11-year-old Pierce and 17-year-old Talia. Zoe is extremely grateful for the financial boost, which she received after telling her story on the Wish Upon A Hero website. After hearing about the donations, Zoe wrote, "My family has been so blessed." [Source]
