Zoo installs extra phone lines for Mr. Fox and Mr. Wolf

St. Paul's Como Zoo is taking a preemptive strike against April Fools' pranksters, installing four extra phone lines in preparation for the flood of calls it expects this weekend asking for Ellie Fint, Perry Keet and other imaginary residents with animal-inspired names. "We get inundated every April Fools' Day," says zoo spokesman Matt Reinartz. "But if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." The most oft-requested zoo dwellers -- Mr. Lion, Mr. Fox and Mr. Wolf -- get their own discrete lines.

Now that the plan has been publicized, though, four lines might not be enough. Folks on Twitter are already studying Bart Simpson clips and brainstorming for fresh jokes to give phone operators a genuine chuckle.
